3to7: cafe, bar & art gallery
Walking down Danks Street during the day, you barely notice this almost laneway sized cafe/bar in between apartment blocks, furniture and design shops and your usual Waterloo cafe. During the day, 3to7 is an all day brunch cafe and art gallery that turns into a bar at night. Inside, the interiors are filled high tables and chairs, and the walls are dotted with the latest art and creative features that occasionally changes. During our visit, there were beautiful silver green, almost sage like flora on the walls and all over the cafe. I found a card on a shelf and it says the flower pieces are by Jardine Flower Belle. Another beautiful featured floral piece is by Setsuko Yanagisawa.
The New York-brunch inspired food was an art form on its own: beautifully cooked coconut french toast with spiced pineapple, seasonal berries and berry mousse, the delightful pancakes with salted caramel, bananas, fresh thyme & orange clotted cream and the savoury kipfler potatoes with 63 degree eggs, haloumi and chorizo plate.
Look for the hanging overhead piano just outside the cafe, follow the beautiful floral interiors, find yourself a high chair and enjoy a gorgeous brunch in a beautiful space.
